It’s take-two for Salah, who didn’t have the time to prove himself at Chelsea. It’s not all his fault, coming in during a tough period for Chelsea was never going to be easy. Ultimately, Salah & Cuadrado paid the price!
Today I will be discussing the reasons Salah is a good buy, after watching him enjoy Pre-Season & hit the ground running in the first few games for Liverpool FC.
Salah has been granted another shot at conquering the Premier League.
Currently Priced £1 behind Mane & Firmino
I see him as crucial for Liverpool as Mane & Firmino, but he’s over £1 less.
His Pace on the wings means he can leave most defenders behind.
Good Baseline Scores
Salah has scored good baseline Performance Buzz scores, suggesting if he can start scoring he has a great chance of winning dividends.
Reasons to Buy Salah
I am a little surprised at the current value of Salah on Football Index, he is currently trading at £1.77, which is a damn good price. He has previously reached highs of £2.20, which is Wayne Rooney’s current price! I would definitely be more inclined to invest in Salah than Rooney! And I’m a Man Utd fan!
Salah won’t earn a great deal of Media Buzz, but due to the attacking mentality Liverpool have adopted, he will be a contender for Performance Buzz. It hurts to say it, but the front line of Liverpool is enough to worry any defence, the pace and power Mane, Salah & Firmino produce makes them a force to be reckoned with. Passes, Assists & Goals will come in big numbers!
Another thing to keep an eye out for is Salah’s official playing position. Football Index takes the position based on OPTA Statistics, who have Salah listed as a Midfielder. Now, if he moves into the Midfielder category, he instantly becomes more valuable. Price wise, he is competing with players such as Barkley, Dembele, Rakitic. His Performance Buzz stats would crush the competition, as he assists and scores, which is a rare occurrence for most midfielders.
Moving to a Midfielder would potentially add 50p to Salah & make dividends easier to come by!
Potential Reasons to Avoid
The only potential issue I can see with Salah is that he’s not the ‘main man’ for Liverpool. In fact, I can’t nominate a main man in that squad! It’s probably Mane, but there is no sole contributor to the squad.
If you are investing for a nailed on Performance Buzz winner, I would maybe avoid the whole of Liverpool’s squad! Their defence is a no-no, the midfielders don’t really stand out and any of the forwards can pop up and score a goal or two!
However, based on index prices for players around Salah’s price, it’s clear that he should be a minimum of £2.00, Diego Costa is £2.20 and he won’t be playing a competitive match until January at the earliest!
Unlike my other suggestions such as Griezmann or Dybala, I recommend Salah purely for current market price. Sure, he has potential as he’s only 25, but he’s made the biggest step up he can.
