Alexis Sanchez is a wonderful footballer, he stands out in a fairly average Arsenal side.
Sanchez joined Arsenal from Barcelona, as he wasn’t getting the game time that he deserved due to the difficulty of being picked ahead of Messi, David Villa or Neymar at that time.
Last season, Sanchez scored 30 goals and achieved 14 assists, which isn’t bad at all.
However, he has become frustrated at Arsenal, due to the lack of Star signings and trophies. He has refused to renew his contract and in January can talk to clubs for free.
This is guaranteed to bring media buzz returns as it will be one of the biggest stories of the January Transfer Window.
At 28, Sanchez has now hit his peak, so his performances will be something to consider.
Sanchez is the main man for Arsenal, he has the ability to turn games around on his own.
He has the potential to earn Media and Performance dividends, especially this winter regarding his contract.
At £5.60 a share, it seems quite steep. Ronaldo, Lukaku, Dybala & Griezmann are all cheaper
Reasons to Buy Alexis Sanchez
Alexis Sanchez is definitely a player which would add value to your portfolio. He is the second highest earner for dividends, but I think this will rise further.
Due to his contract talks stalling at Arsenal, I believe the 2018 Transfer Window will be a huge one for him, there will be media stories popping up everywhere. In Fact, he’s already been linked to Man City, Man Utd, Barcelona & Juventus. If it’s a Media Buzz player you want, you cant go wrong with Alexis Sanchez.
Other than that, Alexis adds value with his performance buzz capabilities. We haven’t tracked him scoring a crazy amount of points, but Arsenal haven’t had a great start to the season, drawing & losing games. Ultimately, this means he won’t be able to pick up as many points as we would like him to.
Potential Reasons to Avoid
The price of Sanchez is currently at it’s peak, unless the markets grow larger of course.
Short term, there may be a slight increase in price for him, however, I think after he gets his move away from Arsenal we may see a drop in price. This is because there are going to be multiple traders who are holding Sanchez for the media dividends, then releasing them back to the market after he gets his move. Clever Move. Once Sanchez gets his move, the media attention will die down, as at 28 years old this will most likely be his final destination.
Regarding Performance buzz, it really all depends on where he moves to! If he goes to Barcelona, he would be a better option for Performance Buzz than if he moved to Man City, as now Neymar has left there is less competition for places & Suarez is almost an OAP!
At Man City, Sanchez would be amongst Sane, De Bruyne, Sterling, Aguero & Gabriel Jesus who are all capable of popping up with goals and assists. It’s a great option to have if you’re a Man City fan, but as a trader, it turns the Man City team lineup into a lottery, which means volatility!
