I could cry whilst writing this… I sold 400 Mohamed Salah at the start of the season for a £0.16 profit per share.
He reached the heights of just over £10 per share, after an amazing season.
We are yet to see if this is a one season wonder, but with a £9 appreciation in price, alongside £2.42 in dividends (so far), he is definitely the Football Index Player of the Year.
Note, the F.I Player of the Year is something I have made up. But he wins it anyway!
Aswell as performing fantastically on Football Index, he has been incredible for Liverpool FC all season.
He has become the Buzz King in the last few months, but it’s unclear as to whether Salah can keep this up, he is getting a considerable amount of attention purely for his form.
Mohamed Salah didn’t shoot up overnight, it was a slow process. However, there were evident jumps in price when traders noticed he was beginning to dominate the Media Buzz charts.
Salah is currently second on the Media Buzz Returns list. He has won £2.01 in Media dividends, only Alexis Sanchez has earnt more, taking £2.13 of Media Buzz. This isn’t too much of a shock, as the Alexis Sanchez transfer story dominated headlines for months!
I fully expect Salah to top the list, come the end of the Football Season.
It’s probably safe to say we have a new Buzz King… especially if Salah stays in England!
If you have held Salah since around October (Price was £1.97 at this point), you will have returned over 100% Return on Investment… From Dividends alone!
If this isn’t good enough, the price of Salah has also gone through the roof… with him currently being priced at £9.69, although he did actually reach £10.67 at the peak.
I am going to calculate the potential profit based on selling at £10.00 (as it’s easier!)
Shares Held: 500
Purchase Price: £2.00
Dividend Returns: £2.57 (Media and Performance Combined)
Sell Price: £10.00
Total Profit: £5185. This is with the commission all paid.

Over 500% Return on Investment is fantastic, especially being as this is from a single season!
Mohamed Salah has definitely been a Media Buzz sensation, however, his Performance Buzz wins have been pretty poor!
This sounds like a crazy statement, as Salah is about to be crowned the Premier Leagues Top Goalscorer, with 31 goals!
He also has 9 assists to his name, which puts Salah in the Top 10 for assists in the Premier League.
This just goes to show, that although he has performed brilliantly, the Performance Buzz scoring matrix doesn’t ‘suit’ his type of play!
Mohamed Salah is well deserving of his Football Index Player of The Year virtual award.
He has proven that he can perform in the Premier League, after his previous failed stint with Chelsea.
His performances are fantastic to watch, although he’s not a ‘Performance Buzz Player’. It’s safe to say, what he lacks for with Performance Buzz dividends, he makes up for with Media Buzz dividends.
It’s very possible we have a new Media Buzz King! Previously, I would have agreed that Neymar was the Media Man…
Things to watch with Mohamed Salah:
- There will be a price drop if Salah moves from the Premier League, as he’s potentially going to receive less attention.
- It’s possible that Salah is in the form of his lifetime, can he reproduce next season?
